I put this story out in the forum also - what other retail trends are occurring that you see either as a consumer or as a business leader? Wal-Mart HQ reporting a major jump in the sales of environmentally-friendly products over the last year. To track the adoption rate of green items, Wal-Mart created what it calls the 'Live Better Index,' a sample of 5 key environmentally-friendly products that they think reflects the mentality of consumers as a whole. The index shows a growth of 66% in the green habits of Wal-Mart shoppers since last Earth Day '07. That's right, Wal-Mart shoppers, you're buying green!
We see that 30% of consumers bought green products in 2007.
